April 2024 Literature Review Series References

Ming May Zhang and Katherine Kessel join to help highlight the most notable articles from April 2024 in this Literature Review Series episode.

Two special guests, Katherine Kessel and Ming May Zhang, join me for the April 2024 Literature Review Series where we review the most notable and potentially practice-changing peer-reviewed publications from the month. The episode is broken down this month more based on study or article design rather than the clinical topic.

The Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT) section leads off the episode, the featured articles of the month, including: INSPIRE, RIGHT, & ENRICH.

A pro/con debate on pharmacologic treatment of SVT follows then moving into prospective observational studies researching drug interactions in atrial fibrillation patients receiving Factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulants, and VISPSS: researching vasopressin use in early septic shock.

The discussion shifts to reviewing a new trauma guideline before talking about post-hoc analyses from ATHOS-3 and DIANA.

The ending remains the same highlighting Pharmacist-featured articles in the Front of the Fridge before the closing section, Sweet Emotion, reviewing non-clinical perspective pieces from medical journals.

This was a great month, especially chocked full with Pharmacist-featured research and publications, so don’t miss all the great peer-reviewed publications on this Literature Review Series episode.
